Introduction

Reception

The reception at ABode Glasgow is located on the ground floor and has clear level access. Throughout the whole of the ground floor the surfaces are level wooden flooring and carpets. Corridors throughout the ground floor are wide.

Reception is well lit with over head and wall lighting and has plenty of natural light. A hotel familiarisation tour is available upon request.

 

Public areas

Lounge and Restaurant

The lounge in the hotel is located on the ground floor where the surfaces are a mix of level wooden flooring and carpets. The lounge door is 1140mm wide. Assistance dogs are more than welcome within the lounge. The lounge has a mixture of seating from wall cushioned seats to soft chairs and small bar-stools. Food and drink is served in the lounge in the evening so please have a look at our menu for details, alternatively Room service is available with menus in the bedrooms.

Breakfast is served in the lounge everyday. Breakfast is a self service continental buffet with a full Scottish cooked to order breakfast.

Large print menus are available on request and all staff can assist running through a menu with you.

Public Toilets

There are accessible toilets in the lounge area. There is a vertical and a horizontal rail beside the basin and toilet and Emergency pull cord with linked alarm to our reception. There are lever taps on the sinks. The toilet is well lit with built in ceiling lights.

 

Bedroom

There is one accessible room located on the ground floor at the rear of the hotel, with easy access from the wheelchair entrance, which is located via Bath Lane. This room provides specific facilities for guests with disabilities. The entry door is 890mm wide and is light and easy to open. It is a double bedroom. In the room there is a transfer space of at least 3500mm, to the right of the bed. The height of the bed is 530mm. The room is bright and evenly lit, over head wall and ceiling lighting is used. There are also bed side lamps. Additional lighting can be sourced if requested. All bedding is non feather. Wide screen digital TV with remote control and subtitles if needed.

The accessible room has a level entry en suite wet room bathroom. Door width is 898mm, toilet height is 500mm and wash basin height is 750mm. Horizontal and vertical grab rails are fitted around the shower and either side of the toilet. Lever taps are fitted on the washbasin, which also has a push plug. The flooring is non slip tile and a shower seat is available where required.

 

Evacuation

In order to safely evacuate, we will need to conduct a personal emergency evacuation plan on arrival to understand your specific requirements. Should evacuation be necessary, our alarm will sound continuously.  It is ABode Glasgow’s responsibility to ensure the safe evacuation of the building. It is our policy to allocate lower level bedrooms for any guest that requires extra assistance during an evacuation.  Please contact the hotel directly on 0141 221 6789 to advise of any assistance in advance which will allow us to allocate a lower level bedroom.
